Game Overview
Gaiapolis is one of those arcade gems that feels like someone smashed a fantasy novel into a beat 'em up. You pick between a prince, fairy, or dragon—each with their own quirks—and hack your way through hordes of enemies with swords, magic, or in the dragon’s case, just breathing fire everywhere. The fairy’s flight makes dodging attacks way easier, but the dragon’s raw damage is hard to ignore once you get going.
It’s straightforward at first—follow the arrow, wreck some monsters, level up—but the RPG bits sneak up on you. Suddenly you’re eyeing XP bars mid-combo, debating whether to grind a few more enemies before the boss. The flying citadel setting gives it this weirdly cool vibe, like a mix of Arthurian legend and floating castles. And yeah, the final showdown with the evil king is as over-the-top as you’d hope.
It’s the kind of game where you’ll lose a few quarters figuring out which character clicks, but once you do, the chaos feels worth it.
