Slap this cartridge in and suddenly Ocarina of Time lets you blast through dungeons at double speed or turn Link invincible—Mario 64 gets way weirder when you crank his movement speed to ridiculous levels.

Game Overview

GameBooster 64 is one of those weird little unofficial N64 cartridges that lets you tweak ROMs in ways the original developers never intended. You start by loading up a game—say, Ocarina of Time—and suddenly you’ve got options to mess with speed, invincibility, or even skip entire dungeons if you’re feeling lazy.

The interface is clunky in that charming late-90s way, but once you figure out the button combos, it’s surprisingly fun to break games you’ve played a hundred times before. I accidentally turned Mario into a hyper-speed bullet once, and honestly? Best way to replay Mario 64.

Just don’t expect modern polish—this thing feels like digging up a cheat device from a time capsule.
