Rampart shifts gears entirely: you control a castle, placing walls to defend your territory, then manning cannons to blast invading ships before the timer runs out. Both games maintain a brisk, sometimes punishing pace, with Gauntlet’s constant resource drain and Rampart’s tense rebuilding phases.
