Game Overview
Goonies II on the NES is one of those weirdly ambitious sequels that throws a bit of everything at you. You start as Mikey, swinging through caves and punching bats—classic platformer stuff—but then suddenly you're in first-person dungeon-crawling sections, fumbling with keys and dodging traps. The Fratellis are still the worst, and rescuing Annie the mermaid feels oddly urgent when you realize she's just... stuck in a random room somewhere.
It's janky in that very 80s NES way, where you'll get lost constantly and some enemies seem unfairly cheap, but there's something charming about how much they crammed in here. The soundtrack’s got that nostalgic Konami synth, too. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.
