You’re back in the Vic Viper, dodging waves of enemies that seem to multiply every time you blink, and those Moai heads? Yeah, they’re still here, but now they spit bullets like they’ve got a personal grudge.
The power-up system is what makes it click—you’re constantly juggling upgrades, trying to build the perfect loadout before some screen-filling boss decides to ruin your day. The Options (those little floating helper orbs) feel even better this time, trailing behind you like a deadly conga line. One minute you’re weaving through an asteroid field, the next you’re in some pulsating alien hive, and the game never lets you settle into a rhythm.
It’s harder than the first one, no question—expect to see the "Continue?" screen a lot. But when you finally claw your way past a brutal section, it’s the best kind of arcade rush. Just don’t get too comfortable with your laser-spewing death machine; Gradius 2 loves to knock you down a peg.
