Remember when Disney games actually had charm? The Great Circus Mystery is one of those—a bright, bouncy platformer where Mickey and Minnie (or Donald, or Goofy, if you're feeling chaotic) run through circus tents dodging rollercoasters and juggling clowns. The two-player mode is where it shines—my sister and I used to argue over who got to be Minnie because her floaty jump just felt better.
The levels are pure 90s Disney: candy-colored, slightly weird, and packed with little details like trapeze swings that actually make you panic when you miss. It’s not brutally hard, but some sections—looking at you, spinning platform maze—will test your patience in the best way. That soundtrack? Still stuck in my head decades later.
If you’ve got a Genesis collecting dust, dig it out for this one. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the circus theme at work.
