Game Overview
Guilty Gear X - Advance Edition (Eurasia) (J) is a surprisingly solid GBA port of a fighting game that shouldn't work this well on a handheld. The first thing you notice is how fast it moves—characters like Sol and Ky feel just as quick as they do in the arcade, though the screen crunch means you'll eat a few surprise hits from off-screen attacks.
What stands out is how they kept most of the mechanics intact. Roman cancels, instant kills, even the weighty feel of landing a counterhit—it's all here. The sprites are chunky but readable, and the soundtrack somehow doesn't sound completely butchered. I spent way too long in training mode just figuring out how to chain Potemkin's hammer loops on the tiny D-pad.
It's not perfect—some stages are just blurry messes, and good luck trying to react to Millia's mixups on this hardware. But for a portable version of Guilty Gear X, it holds up better than it has any right to.
