The game retains signature mechanics from the series, including the Roman Cancel, which lets you halt your own move to create new combo opportunities, and a tension gauge that builds as you move forward or attack, allowing for powerful special moves. Matches are fast and demand quick reflexes, with a difficulty that can feel punishing if you don't learn the timing for blocks and counters. It feels sharp and responsive, capturing the intensity of the arcade original in a surprisingly complete portable package.
