Play Gunship Online
Plot waypoints on the map, sweat through missile alerts in first-person, then flip your chopper sideways to blast tanks in arcade-style chaos.

Gunship came out for the Sega Genesis in 1993, developed and published by MicroProse. It was part of that wave of early 90s military sims that tried to balance realism with something you could actually play on a console. You weren't just getting another arcade shooter; it had a specific, serious tone that set it apart from the more frantic action games of the era.
You pilot an Apache helicopter across a series of missions, targeting enemy vehicles and installations from a first-person cockpit view. The main objective is to complete your assigned mission, which usually involves destroying all primary targets, while managing your limited ammunition and fuel. Two mechanics define the experience: plotting your course on an overhead map before takeoff, and then frantically switching between different weapon systems and views during combat. The pacing is tense and deliberate, not fast; you have to think about your approach, conserve rockets, and listen for the missile lock warning. It feels like a genuine, stressful test of focus and resource management.
