Game Overview
Gyromite's one of those weird early NES games that makes you wonder what Nintendo was thinking back in the day. You control this little scientist guy who needs to avoid these sleeping bird monsters, and the only way to move the blockades is by using R.O.B. the Robot—yes, that clunky real-life accessory—to spin tops that raise and lower platforms. It's clunky as hell, but there's something charming about it.
If you've got a friend around, the two-player mode's way more fun—one person controls the scientist while the other handles the blockades with the second controller. Just don't expect it to hold up like later NES classics. It's more of a novelty, really.
