Hangzo came out in 1992 for arcades, developed by Arcade Studios. It was part of that wave of early 90s games that tried to push platforming into more complex, maze-like spaces, ditching the bright, cartoonish worlds for something a bit more abstract and techy. You don't see many like it anymore.
You control a small, agile robot navigating a multi-level tower. Your goal is simply to reach the top, but the path is a gauntlet of moving platforms, instant-death traps, and enemies that respawn if you linger. The key mechanics are wall-jumping to scale vertical shafts and collecting data chips to temporarily disable security systems like laser grids or turrets. The pacing is relentless; you are almost always in motion, and the controls are deliberately slippery, making precise landings a tense affair. It feels like a constant, high-stakes puzzle where every jump is a calculated risk.
