Heart of China feels like playing through an old-school adventure flick—picture Indiana Jones meets 1930s Shanghai. You’re Jake "Lucky" Masters, a washed-up WWI pilot hired to rescue a kidnapped heiress from a ruthless warlord. The setup’s pure pulp, and the game leans into it with digitized actors pasted over these moody painted backdrops that somehow work.

It’s point-and-click, but not just "find key, open door." Some puzzles have a few ways to solve them—bribing your way past a guard might work, or you could sneak around back if you’re feeling stealthy. Mess up, though, and you’ll hit a game over screen faster than you’d expect.
