Heimdall 2 picks up right where the first game left off—Loki’s still causing chaos, and this time you’ve got to hunt down pieces of a shattered amulet to finally put an end to his nonsense. The setup’s classic Norse mythology with a twist: you play as Heimdall (Odin’s son, no big deal) and Ursha, a Valkyrie, hopping between worlds to solve puzzles and fight Loki’s goons.

What I love is how the game mixes combat and puzzles. One minute you’re slashing through enemies with a sword, the next you’re stuck trying to figure out which NPC actually needs that random trinket you picked up. The isometric view gives it that old-school charm, though sometimes you’ll swear the camera’s working against you when navigating tight spots.

Switching between Heimdall and Ursha keeps things interesting—some sections force you to use both, like when you need brute strength for one puzzle and agility for another. The worlds feel distinct, from frosty wastelands to eerie halls, and the enemies keep you on your toes. Just don’t expect the puzzles to hold your hand—half the fun is banging your head against a riddle until it clicks.

If you’re into retro action-adventure games with a Norse twist, this one’s a solid time capsule from the Amiga era.
