Hexion takes the classic falling-block puzzle formula and twists it—literally. Instead of Tetris’ squares, you’re working with hexagons, which means more angles to think about when slotting pieces together. At first, it feels familiar, but then you realize you can’t just rotate mindlessly—those six-sided shapes demand a bit more strategy.
The speed ramps up fast, and before long, you’re frantically spinning and dropping pieces while the stack creeps toward the top. If you mess up, you can continue (though your score resets), which is nice when you just want to keep playing instead of starting over.
There’s a surprising amount of variety here. Besides the standard mode, you get three weirdly shaped playfields—one stretched wide, one tall, and one diagonal—that totally change how you approach the game. And if you’ve got a friend around, the multiplayer modes are a blast, especially the co-op one where you share a giant board and try not to blame each other when things go wrong.
It’s Tetris, but not as you know it—and that’s what makes it fun.
