Hierarchical is one of those no-nonsense Flash shooters where you just blast stuff and try not to die. The pixel art’s rough around the edges, but the action’s so frantic you stop noticing after a minute. You start with this dinky little ship, and within seconds you’re weaving through bullet hell while some weird, screen-filling boss spits neon death at you.
What’s cool is how the upgrades change things up—first run, I grabbed some spread shot thinking it’d solve everything, then immediately got wrecked by a boss that demanded precision. Classic. Controls are dead simple (arrows to dodge, X to fire), which is good because you’ll be too busy panicking to remember anything fancy. It’s the kind of game where you lose three lives in 30 seconds, then immediately hit retry because "next time’ll be different." Spoiler: it usually isn’t.
No story, no fluff—just solid, old-school shooting with a surprising amount of depth under the surface. If you miss when Flash games were pure chaos, this one’s got your back.
