Remember those old Sonic flash games where you could just mess around with the levels? Sonic Scene Creator v2 takes that idea and cranks it up. You get all the classic zones from Sonic 1, 2, and 3—Green Hill, Chemical Plant, even the weirdly satisfying Casino Night. Plus some extra stage sets I’d never seen before, like a space-themed one that feels like it’s straight out of a scrapped Sonic CD prototype.
At first I just dumped a bunch of loops and springs randomly (because, obviously), but after a few minutes I realized you can actually build something playable if you try. The controls are janky in that nostalgic Flash way, but once you get used to it, slapping together your own terrible Sonic level is weirdly satisfying. Just don’t expect the physics to be perfect—half the fun is watching Sonic glitch through your badly placed platforms.
It’s the kind of thing you’d leave open in a browser tab while pretending to do homework back in 2008.
