Game Overview

Remember Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast? This GameCube version takes everything great about that game and cranks it up. You’ve got the same wild mix of speed stages with Sonic and Shadow, treasure hunting as Knuckles and Rouge (still polarizing, but I kinda love the chaos), and mech battles with Tails and Eggman. The story splits between heroes and villains, which keeps things interesting—especially when Shadow shows up with his whole "ultimate lifeform" attitude.

What makes this version special? The graphics got a nice polish, and there’s a bunch of new two-player modes—kart racing is stupidly fun, and Chao karate is exactly as ridiculous as it sounds. Oh, and if you were obsessed with raising Chao like I was, you can now transfer them to a GBA and train them on the go. The Chao Garden alone ate up way too many hours of my childhood.

It’s not perfect (looking at you, camera angles), but the sheer variety and that killer soundtrack make it one of the best Sonic games out there.
