Sonic Heroes came out on the Nintendo GameCube in 2003, developed and published by Sega. It was part of that era where 3D platformers were really trying to figure out how to keep the speed and style of the older games while making everything bigger and more elaborate. This one stood out because it let you play through the same stages with four different teams, each with their own story that eventually connects.

You control a team of three characters at all times, switching instantly between their types: speed, flight, and power. The goal is to get through each stage, defeat the boss, and move the story forward. You might grind rails with Sonic, use Tails to carry the team over gaps, or have Knuckles punch through barriers. The levels are fast and often demand quick reflexes, especially during boss fights or special stages. It feels chaotic and full of energy, like you're always just barely in control of the momentum.
