Okay, so Muppet Adventure - Chaos at the Carnival is exactly what it sounds like—a ridiculous, slightly janky NES game where everything goes wrong in the best way. You start off thinking, "Oh, I'll just help Kermit keep the carnival running," but two minutes in, Gonzo's launched himself out of a cannon into a dunk tank, and Fozzie's jokes are literally breaking platforms. The side-scrolling feels a little stiff (it is the NES), but the mini-games are where it shines—stuff like balancing pies for Animal or herding chickens as Sam the Eagle. Some of them are frustratingly hard, but in that way where you laugh instead of rage-quit. And the sprite work? Surprisingly expressive for 8-bit. Miss Piggy’s karate chop animation alone is worth it.
