Dr. Chaos came out in 1988 for the NES, published by Fujisankei Communications International. You play as a man searching a bizarre, mutant-infested mansion for your missing brother. The main goal is to find pieces of a broken Warpgate to confront the mad scientist Dr. Chaos. You explore room by room, switching between a side-scrolling view for combat and a first-person perspective to search for items and clues. Combat is simple but unforgiving; you use a knife or later a bow, and enemies respawn quickly. The game is slow, methodical, and often frustrating due to limited health and confusing layouts. It feels like a tense, claustrophobic scavenger hunt where every corner could hide a threat or a badly needed key.
