Hot Potato! is this weirdly charming little GBA game where you drive a bus full of colorful, wiggly potatoes through city streets. The spuds flail their tiny arms like they’re drowning in air, and your job is to toss them out the window at just the right moment—if two of the same color bump into each other, they merge into one happy potato. Miss, and they’ll just keep bouncing around like hyperactive jellybeans.
It sounds simple, but the screen gets chaotic fast. Potatoes pile up, the bus speeds up, and suddenly you’re frantically scanning for matching colors while dodging lampposts. The animations are ridiculous—some spuds trip over their own feet, others do a little victory dance when paired. It’s dumb in the best way possible.
Somehow, the game convinces you that saving cartoon potatoes is a noble cause. Earth depends on it, apparently.
