Hot Shocker is this weirdly addictive arcade game where you play as Dudley, a telephone repair guy obsessed with untangling a maze of colorful wires. The octagonal playfield looks like some kind of abstract circuit board, and your job is to connect all the lines while dodging these dopey birds that keep getting in the way.
It starts simple enough, but then these moving "hot spots" start zapping around, and random short circuits flash at the edges—touch either and poor Dudley gets fried. The tension builds as your wire supply ticks down, and you’re scrambling to finish the connections before it runs out. Sometimes Woodley shows up to help, letting you move faster or take out enemies for extra wire.
Between levels, there’s this ridiculous bonus mini-game where Dudley falls from a tower and you have to catch him mid-air. It’s goofy, but the higher you climb, the more chaotic the main game gets. The whole thing has this weird charm—simple but surprisingly tense once those hazards start piling up.
