I picked up Imago on Arcade back in 2020, a release from PixelByte Studios. It fits right in with that era's focus on clean, minimalist design and tight mechanics, avoiding the bloat of bigger titles. The game doesn't waste time on lengthy introductions; it just drops you into its world and expects you to keep up.
You control a small, agile character navigating a series of abstract, screen based puzzle rooms. The main goal is to reach the exit in each stage, but getting there means dealing with obstacles like moving platforms, timed switches, and environmental hazards that require precise movement. Key mechanics include a rewind function for correcting mistakes and the ability to manipulate certain elements in the environment to create new paths.
