INTERNATIONAL CRICKET (EU) is one of those weird NES sports games that feels both janky and charming. You pick from eight national teams—or the hidden "Beam Team" where the devs replaced player portraits with Sonic, which is just bizarre in the best way.
The batting view is third-person until you hit the ball, then it suddenly zooms out to this awkward overhead angle. The animations are stiff, especially the cutscenes for wickets—like a weird little puppet show celebrating your failure. The AI isn't great, either. You can cheese the bowling if you figure out the timing.
But there's something oddly satisfying about it. Maybe it's the simplicity, or the fact that cricket games were so rare back then. It’s rough, but if you grew up with it, INTERNATIONAL CRICKET (EU) has a weird nostalgic pull.
