Game Overview
International Golf_Disk1 came out on the Amiga in 1995, developed by 5th Dimension Software and published by Summit Software. It was one of the later golf simulations for the platform, arriving at a time when many players were already looking toward newer systems, but it offered a solid and detailed take on the sport for those still committed to the Amiga.
You control a golfer through two full 18-hole courses, using the mouse to select from 14 clubs and manage a power and accuracy meter for each swing. The main objective is to complete each hole in as few strokes as possible, either alone in Practice mode or against up to 65 AI opponents in Tournament play. Signature mechanics include customizing shots for draw, fade, and backspin, and the game supports up to four players in turn-based matches. The pacing is deliberate, demanding careful calculation of wind and terrain, and the difficulty feels authentic without being overly punishing. It feels satisfying to plan and execute a clean shot that lands exactly where you intended.
