Play Jimmy Connors Tennis Online
Swing your Game Boy like a racket—those pixel-perfect volleys feel weirdly good once you nail the timing, and clay courts actually play slower than grass. Save your tournament cash before the batteries die.

I picked up Jimmy Connors Tennis for the Game Boy back in 1993, a release from publisher Ubisoft. It was one of the few dedicated tennis games you could carry in your pocket at the time, a straightforward sports title in an era dominated by platformers and puzzle games. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just offered a quick match of tennis whenever you had a few minutes to spare.
You control a tennis player from an elevated side view, moving them left and right along the baseline to meet the ball. The main objective is to win tournaments by outscoring a series of opponents across different surfaces, each affecting the ball's bounce and speed. You have access to different shot types, like lobs and slices, executed with a combination of the D-pad and buttons; timing is everything. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the AI can be surprisingly stubborn on higher difficulties. It feels satisfying to finally place a winning shot after a long rally, a simple but genuine test of reflexes.
