Play Jimmy Connors Tennis on nes Online
Classic 8-bit tennis with Jimmy Connors. Different court surfaces actually matter, tournaments to conquer, and a password system to track your winnings. Surprisingly deep for an NES sports game.
Jimmy Connors Tennis came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, developed by NMS Software and published by Ocean Software. It was one of the later NES releases, arriving at a time when the 16-bit era was already in full swing, but it offered a solid, no frills tennis experience for those still loyal to the 8-bit console.
You control a tennis player, either solo in tournaments or against a friend, with the goal of winning matches across various surfaces like grass, clay, and hard court. The game uses a simple control scheme where you hit different shot types based on button presses and player positioning; timing and angle are crucial. Matches are played in a best-of sets format, and the game tracks progress with a password save system instead of a battery. The difficulty ramps up noticeably in later rounds, demanding precise shot placement and quick reflexes. It feels satisfying to outmaneuver an opponent with a well placed lob or a sharp cross court winner.
