The levels are screen-by-screen, and falling off the bottom means losing a life, which adds constant pressure. It's a tough game, with some unfair enemy placements and leaps of faith, but pushing through each fortress and finally reaching a new area feels like a genuine accomplishment. Moving through its strange, moody world is equal parts frustrating and absorbing.
