Killer Instinct Gold on the N64 is that rare fighting game where button-mashing won’t save you—you actually have to learn the combos, and when you pull them off, it feels ridiculously satisfying. The roster’s got everything from cyborgs to werewolves, and each one plays totally different (I always got wrecked by Glacius until I figured out his weird stretchy limbs).
It’s one of those games where the multiplayer gets loud—friends yelling over split-second dodges or that last-second ultra combo that flips the match. The graphics still hold up surprisingly well for an N64 title, especially the over-the-top finishers. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour trying to nail Jago’s moveset.
