Play Kira To Kaiketsu! 64 Tanteidan (J) Online

You play a rookie detective solving cases that start simple but take weird, dark turns—clicking through pixelated crime scenes and wrestling with puzzles that either click perfectly or leave you totally stuck. The blocky N64 visuals and moody soundtrack somehow make digging through drawers for clues way more immersive than it should be.

Game Overview

Kira to Kaiketsu! 64 Tanteidan is one of those weird, Japan-only N64 detective games that feels like a mix between a visual novel and a point-and-click adventure. You play as a rookie detective solving cases—some are straightforward, others get surprisingly dark for a cartoony N64 title. The puzzles are hit or miss (some make you feel like a genius, others just leave you clicking everything), but the atmosphere nails that late '90s mystery vibe.

Controls are a little clunky by modern standards, but once you get used to it, there’s something charming about slowly piecing together clues while that low-poly N64 aesthetic does most of the storytelling. If you’ve ever wanted to play a detective game where the biggest challenge is sometimes just figuring out what the heck you’re supposed to interact with next, this is oddly satisfying in its own way.
