You either play as Kira, scribbling names in the Death Note while dodging L’s investigation, or as L, piecing together clues to corner the killer. The whole thing feels like a tense, slow-burn mind game—way more psychological than your typical anime tie-in.
At first, I thought the touchscreen note-writing would be gimmicky, but it actually adds to the paranoia. Mess up a name or miss a detail, and suddenly L’s agents are closing in. Meanwhile, playing as L feels like solving a puzzle where the pieces keep moving. It’s not perfect—some mechanics are clunky—but if you’re into the series, it nails that cat-and-mouse tension.
Just don’t expect flashy action. This is all about outthinking the other side.
