Knightmare on the Amiga is one of those dungeon crawlers that feels like it was made by people who actually played Dungeon Master—because, well, it kinda was. You guide a team of adventurers through the creepy halls of Dunshelm, hunting down four legendary artifacts to take down Lord Fear (who, let’s be honest, sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon villain, but hey, it works). Treguard from the old TV show pops in now and then to drop cryptic advice, which is a nice touch if you remember the series.
The controls are pure mouse-driven nostalgia—left-click to poke around, right-click to make your characters do stuff. Want to stab a skeleton? Click the knife, pick "hack," and hope for the best. Empty-handed? Punching is always an option, though it rarely ends well. Spells are there too, but good luck figuring them out without trial and error.
Fair warning: saving is easy, but loading? You’ll either need to reset the game or deliberately get your party killed first. Classic Amiga jank, but it adds to the charm. If you’re into old-school dungeon crawlers with a British TV twist, this one’s worth a look.
