You pick from five color-coded warriors (I always went for the red one—no idea why, it just felt right) and bash your way through levels packed with goofy-looking monsters.

The controls are stiff in that classic NES way—jumping feels a little heavy, and some attacks take commitment—but once you get the rhythm down, it’s weirdly satisfying. There’s even a dinosaur mech summon if you collect enough power-ups, which is as ridiculous and awesome as it sounds. Just don’t expect deep storytelling; the dialogue’s all in Japanese, though the fan translation helps a bit.

It’s definitely a product of its time, but if you’re into retro beat ‘em ups with a tokusatsu vibe, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
