Game Overview

Last Battle is one of those classic Amiga beat-em-ups that feels like it’s trying to punch above its weight. You play as Aarzak (or Kenshiro, if you’re playing the original Japanese version), a martial artist who basically just walks to the right and kicks the ever-loving heck out of waves of goons. The controls are simple—punch, kick, jump—but there’s something satisfying about timing a crouching uppercut just right.

The power meter is a nice touch—fill it up, and suddenly you’re a whirlwind of fists for the rest of the level. Some stages are straightforward brawls, while others throw maze-like layouts at you, which honestly just makes you wish you were back to punching things. Boss fights are the real highlight, though—big, screen-filling jerks who take way too many hits to go down.

Fun fact: the Western version scrubbed all the Fist of the North Star references and toned down the violence, but you can still tell it’s the same game underneath. If you’ve got nostalgia for old-school side-scrollers, this one’s worth a few rounds.
