Game Overview

Last Battle (or Last Battle: Hokuto no Ken in Japan) is one of those SNES brawlers that feels like it crawled straight out of a late-night anime marathon. You play as this lone, ridiculously jacked dude punching his way through waves of post-apocalyptic goons—some fights spill into highways, others in ruined cityscapes, all with that classic '90s hyper-masculine aesthetic.

The combat’s simple but brutal: mash buttons for combos, occasionally grab a pipe or knife, and unleash these hilariously exaggerated special moves where enemies explode or crumple like paper. It’s janky in places (hit detection can be… optimistic), but there’s something weirdly satisfying about the chaos. The soundtrack’s all synth and grunt noises, which just adds to the vibe.

Not gonna lie, it’s no Streets of Rage, but if you’re into retro beat-’em-ups with attitude, this one’s a solid time capsule. Best played with a friend and zero expectations.
