Game Overview
Legend of Faerghail for the Amiga is one of those old-school RPGs that feels like it was made by dungeon masters who really loved their dice rolls. You start off picking a party of four—warriors, mages, the usual suspects—and immediately get thrown into this moody, low-fantasy world where everything wants to kill you. The graphics are chunky but weirdly atmospheric, like someone smeared oil paint over graph paper.
Combat’s turn-based but faster than you’d expect, and the spell system’s got this satisfying crunch to it. Found myself reloading a lot when my dumb fighter charged into a pack of goblins, though. The music’s all ominous synths that somehow make even walking through a empty hallway feel like a bad idea. If you’ve got nostalgia for Amiga-era RPGs or just like your fantasy with a side of clunky charm, this one’s worth dusting off.
