Play Lock On Online
Dodge flak, pick your jet, and shred enemy squadrons—Lock On nails that SNES dogfighting rush where you’re constantly weaving between missiles and lining up kill shots. The Tomcat’s speed or the A-10’s firepower? Your call.

Lock On came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, published by Vic Tokai. It was one of those straightforward flight shooters that showed up in the middle of the console's life, offering a no frills take on aerial combat without the cinematic flair some other games were starting to push.
You pilot a fighter jet, choosing from a few different models like the F-14 Tomcat or the A-10 Thunderbolt, each with its own handling and weapon strengths. The goal is to survive through a series of missions, clearing the screen of enemy planes, helicopters, and ground targets. The signature mechanics involve a lock on targeting system for your missiles, requiring you to keep an enemy in your sights for a moment before firing, and managing your speed and altitude to dodge incoming fire. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and good positioning. It feels like a tense, constant dance between aiming and evading.
