Game Overview
Loom came out on the Amiga in 1990, a time when adventure games were really finding their voice. Lucasfilm Games developed it, and it stood out from the usual text parsers and verb coin interfaces. You play as Bobbin Threadbare, a young weaver who discovers he can manipulate the world through music.
You guide Bobbin through a series of beautifully painted scenes, interacting with objects and characters by playing specific four-note tunes called drafts. The main goal is to uncover the mystery of your past and the fate of the Guild of Weavers. Instead of collecting items, you learn new musical spells by observing events or being taught them. The game moves at a thoughtful pace, and the challenge comes from listening carefully and applying the right draft at the right time. It feels like slowly weaving a story together, one note at a time.
