Download Loom_Disk2 ROM – Amiga Game
1990 adventure game for Amiga. Play as Bobbin Threadbare, using musical spells ("drafts") to solve puzzles. Features three difficulty modes with visual or auditory spell cues. No combat system.
Loom is one of those weird, beautiful Amiga games that sticks with you. You play as Bobbin Threadbare, a kid from the Guild of Weavers who gets blamed for his village’s bad luck—until everyone suddenly turns into swans. Yeah, it gets weird fast.
Instead of the usual adventure game inventory puzzles, you solve everything by weaving magic spells (called "drafts") using musical notes on a distaff. Each spell is a four-note combo—open a door, turn straw into gold, that kind of thing. The cool part? Play them backward, and they do the opposite. Messing up the notes is half the fun at first.
There are three difficulty levels, and the hardest one makes you play everything by ear—no visual hints. The CD version has gorgeous 256-color graphics and voice acting, but cuts some scenes. The FM Towns version keeps those but loses the voices. Either way, it’s a strange, dreamy little game with a soundtrack that’ll haunt you.
