Mardek is one of those old-school Flash RPGs that somehow sticks with you. You start off as this rookie adventurer paired with a snarky companion, and yeah, the princess got snatched by a dragon—classic setup, but the writing gives it some charm. The combat’s turn-based with a mix of melee and magic, and I remember wasting way too much time deciding whether to spec into fire spells or just whack things with a sword.
Controls are simple (WASD to move, X to interact), but don’t let that fool you—some of those boss fights get brutal. The dev planned eight chapters, though I’m not sure how many actually got finished before Flash went extinct. Still, what’s there feels surprisingly fleshed out for a browser game. Just watch out for the weirdly tough slimes in the first dungeon.
