Play Mariner Online
Dodging mines and squid in a clunky submarine, barely surviving until the next shark attack—those pixel waves hide way too many ways to die.

Mariner came out in 1981 for arcades, developed by Sega. It was part of that wave of games where you just tried to survive as long as possible, with a simple concept and a screen that wrapped around the edges. It didn't have the flash of some other cabinets at the time, but it had its own quiet, tense vibe.
You pilot a small submersible, moving it through a single screen filled with mines, hostile sea creatures, and a giant squid. Your goal is to destroy all the mines on a level before moving to the next, while fending off attacks. You fire torpedoes in a straight line, which is tricky because everything moves in unpredictable patterns. The pacing is slow and deliberate; you have to plan your shots and your route carefully, because one mistake ends the run. It feels like a cautious, underwater chess match where every move could be your last.
