Metal Masters Disk1 came out on the Amiga in 1990 from Infogrames and Electro Brain. It was a time when the platform was full of creative, often experimental games, and this one fit right in with its focus on custom robot combat. You control a large, customizable robot in one-on-one arena battles against another machine. The main objective is to win each match, either by depleting your opponent's energy through combat or by having more points when the timer runs out. You alternate between ranged weapon attacks and close-quarters melee strikes, managing your energy and positioning carefully. Between fights, you spend your winnings on upgrading your robot's parts, like better armor or more powerful weapons. The AI can also take over your robot if you choose, letting you watch the match play out. The pacing is deliberate, with matches feeling like tactical duels rather than frantic brawls. It feels like a hands-on engineering project where you build a champion and then test it in the ring.
