Game Overview

Micro Machines Military came out for the Sega Genesis, or Mega Drive, in 1996, developed by Codemasters. It was part of that wave of games that took familiar toys and turned them into surprisingly competitive, fast-paced experiences. The military theme gave it a different flavor from the standard Micro Machines racing, focusing on combat and objectives over pure speed.

You control a variety of miniature military vehicles, from jeeps and tanks to helicopters, across oversized household environments like a pool table or a workbench. The main goal is to eliminate all opposing players or complete specific mission objectives before they do. Signature mechanics include picking up weapon power-ups scattered around the map, like missiles and mines, and using the environment strategically; driving through a puddle of spilled soda can short out your electronics temporarily. The pacing is frantic, with the small, zoomed-in view making every encounter immediate and dangerous. It feels like orchestrating a very loud, very destructive war in your own backyard.
