Play Monster Bash II Online
Guide Johnny through monster-filled mansions, use your slingshot and broomstick to defeat enemies, collect keys, and rescue your kidnapped pets in this 1993 platformer.
Monster Bash II came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Apogee Software. It was a time when side-scrolling platformers were common, and this one fit right in with its cartoonish style and straightforward action.
You control a kid named Johnny Dashwood, armed with a slingshot, moving screen by screen through monster-filled mansions and graveyards. Your goal is to rescue your kidnapped pets from the clutches of Count Chuck, defeating enemies and avoiding environmental hazards along the way. Signature mechanics include switching between weapons like the slingshot and a magical broomstick that lets you shoot projectiles in a makeshift shoot-'em-up style; you also collect keys to unlock doors and hunt for hidden items to progress. The pacing is brisk, with some tricky jumps and enemy patterns that keep you alert. It feels like a mix of careful exploration and quick reaction, wrapped in a lighthearted, slightly spooky adventure.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
