Game Overview
Monster Trucks DS is exactly what it sounds like—big, loud, and messy in the best way possible. You start by picking one of those ridiculous trucks (I went with the one that looked like it ate smaller cars for breakfast) and immediately get thrown into dirt, mud, and whatever else the tracks decide to throw at you. The first race had me fishtailing all over the place until I figured out how to actually control these beasts.
The tracks are all over the place—deserts, swamps, even some icy nonsense that made me wipe out spectacularly at least three times. And yeah, you can tweak your truck between races if you’ve got the cash, which helps when you realize your suspension is basically made of wet cardboard halfway through a canyon run.
Multiplayer’s where it really shines though. Nothing like watching your friend’s truck flip end-over-end after you sideswipe them on a jump. Just don’t get too cocky—they’ll absolutely return the favor.
