Myth: History in the Making is one of those Amiga games that feels like two adventures in one, depending on whether you're playing the 8-bit or 16-bit version. The 8-bit story drops a modern kid into a fantasy world, while the 16-bit version goes full mythology with a time-traveling warrior—both versions throw you into this wild mix of Greek legends, Viking battles, and even a showdown with Thor himself.

At first, you’re just punching your way through enemies (which feels a little desperate), but soon you’re grabbing swords and axes off the ground like some kind of ancient weapons hoarder. The enemies don’t stop coming, either—they swarm from all sides, and each level introduces new ones that force you to switch up your tactics.

It’s not all mindless slashing, though. Some sections make you stop and figure out puzzles, like how to get past obstacles or trigger the right switches. The platforming can be brutal, and the hit detection isn’t always your friend, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about battling through mythologies with whatever weapon you can scavenge. Just don’t expect Thor to go easy on you.
