Naughty Boy is one of those arcade games that looks simple at first—until you realize how chaotic it gets. You play as this little troublemaker armed with rocks, chucking them at everything in sight to clear a path to the enemy’s fortress at the top of the screen. The longer you hold the throw button, the farther the rock flies, which is handy when ghosts or fire-breathing dragons start closing in.
Smashing the flags on the castle sets the whole thing on fire (very satisfying), but the real fun comes from the little details. Sometimes fruit pops up, and you’ve gotta land a rock right on it for bonus points. Even better are the question mark power-ups—hit one, and every enemy suddenly freezes in fear for a few seconds. Some levels have barbed wire or walls blocking your way, so you’ve gotta break through before moving on.
Every couple of levels, you get a break from the maze and switch to a bonus round where you’re floating in a balloon, dropping stuff on monsters below until your fuel runs out. The game only has four maps, but once you finish them, it loops back around with everything moving faster and getting way more intense. It’s the kind of arcade game that’s easy to pick up but tough to put down.
