Play NBA Jam 2001 Online
Pick two players, launch absurd 10-foot dunks, and listen to the announcer lose it as backboards shatter—physics never stood a chance. Hit three shots in a row and suddenly every wild heave from half-court swishes while you’re "on fire."

NBA Jam 2001 came out for the Game Boy Color in 2001, developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Acclaim. It was one of the last big arcade-style basketball games on the handheld before the Advance took over, and it tried to squeeze that classic over-the-top action onto the small screen. You could pick from a bunch of NBA teams, each with two players to control, and just jump straight into a game without any complicated menus or season modes.
You control one player at a time, switching on the fly to whoever’s closest to the ball, and the goal is simple: outscore the other team. The mechanics are pure arcade chaos. You turbo-dunk with a button combo, sending your player flying toward the rim for ridiculous, gravity-defying slams. If you hit three shots in a row, your player goes "on fire," and for a short time, every shot you take—no matter how wild—seems to go in. The pace is fast, the scores are high, and the CPU doesn’t hold back, so you’re always scrambling on defense and pushing for highlight plays. It feels like pure, exaggerated fun, even with the hardware limitations.
