NBA Live 2000 on the N64 was one of those games that made you feel like you were actually calling the shots on the court. The graphics were solid for the time—players had recognizable faces, and the animations weren’t too stiff. I remember spending way too long just flipping through the roster, picking my favorite team, and then realizing halfway through the first quarter that I had no idea how to properly run a fast break.
What I liked was how the game balanced arcade-style fun with just enough realism to make it satisfying. The controls took a minute to get used to, but once you got the hang of it, pulling off a last-second three-pointer actually felt like a clutch moment. And yeah, the commentary got repetitive after a while, but hearing "He's on fire!" never really got old.
If you’re into classic sports games, this one still holds up surprisingly well. Just don’t expect modern mechanics—this is pure late-'90s basketball nostalgia.
