Nuts & Milk is one of those weird little Famicom games that makes you go, "Wait, what?" when you first see the title screen. Yeah, it sounds like a bad grocery list, but it’s actually a cute (and surprisingly tough) puzzle-platformer from 1984—Hudson Soft’s first crack at a Nintendo console.
You play as Milk, a little guy who has to dodge enemies and grab all the nuts scattered around each level to win his girlfriend’s heart. The controls are simple, but the layouts get devious fast—some jumps feel impossible until you figure out the timing. And those bees? They’re out for blood.
It’s janky by modern standards, but there’s charm in its clunky, early-Famicom energy. Just don’t blame me if you mutter "nuts" under your breath after the tenth game over.
